My family and other animals
I’ve been a little too busy over the last week to blog, work has been a manic and something had to give. But I’m back on form and ready to blog.
This weekend I’m at the folks. I haven’t seen them since Christmas and its nice to have a proper catch up (and be fed). Sometimes a dose of Normality is just what’s needed and that’s exactly what I’ve been getting.
Already I’ve had many, many cups of tea, helped mum with a jigsaw and had a dinner that would sink a battleship. Tonight I’m sure will be a strenuous evening watching tv. I can feel the tiredness of the week melting away
It’s not all relaxing though. I bought my running kit, something I’ve never done here before. Mum and dad live on a hill so any running activity was going to involve lots of up and down. To say it was challenging was an understatement and not having walked much round the area before i had no idea what to expect. Despite rain, heavy traffic and pavements in an appalling state I really enjoyed it. It was quite nice to have the opportunity to be nosey while running past some of the posh houses. I’m dead chuffed at having achieved a new 5k PB of 39.28!
It was called for, just so I could burn off the Mars bar I’d been ‘forced’ to eat earlier
. Maybe I’ll have room now for Sunday dinner. Roll on the Yorkshire puddings and the usual battle with my brother who is convinced I’m eating his rightful share.
Families, gotta love em
.

So nice to visit family – feeding and downtime seems to be a common thread no matter where you are. Congrats on the PB!! Hard to believe neither of us could run 5km a few months ago (yes, we’re a bit awesome, and will soon be running imaginary half-marathons
).
I love the idea of an imaginary half marathon. Infact #strains Im doing one now
Not bad before brekkie!
Yes, we are slightly awesome
Haha – love it! #applauds
