On a downward slope

need to shake this funk

need to shake this funk

Forgive me WordPress, its been a week since my last post.

If truth be known I haven’t felt like blogging and am suffering from a bad case of post holiday blues combined with lack of exercise blues.  Maybe if I have a little moan and wallow here it’ll snap me out of it and get me back on track;

So, here’s what’s wrong;

  1. My knee is not getting better. I need to book a doctors appointment as it’s still painful.  I don’t dare run and have stopped doing Kick Ass April with Dreadmill Diaries because the exercise really hurts and I can’t actually do a proper squat right now
  2. I have been eating crap.  I’ve well and truly fallen off any healthy eating wagon.  In fact I’ve just finished a lovely Dominos pizza.
  3. Work feels like its going nowhere fast.  I’m having trouble concentrating and meeting my deadlines and have lost a lot of motivation
  4. There’s been a distinct lack of communication with the BF over the last week.

I know I need to just pull my finger out and get on with things, but finding the motivation is hard.  Tomorrow starts a new week, so I should take the opportunity to start doing things to make me feel better, or at least less ‘Meh’.

As a first step on the road to cheering myself up I’m going to find a good film to watch on TV.  Hmmmmm, something involving Johnny Depp, Robert Downey Jnr or Vin Diesel I think 🙂

Hope this week is better for you

Thanks Shaz. Mood already lightening so we’ll see what tomorrow brings 🙂

Now, I don’t want to pity party with you, but GoT is on tomorrow, and surely that’s worth a smile? Book another holiday! Even if you only think about where you’re going and when you could go, think about it. Plus, you have your photoshoot in less than a month, and while that may be terrifying (well, to me it would be), it is exciting too. But yes. Do get your Dr to look over your knee – that’s not right that it’s not getting any better after a week. Also, make sure you’re properly warmed up before squatting – I have problems with my knee if I squat sans warm up. With love from the Tub (eating from a tub of caramel chew chew Ben & Jerrys… bugger)

Sorry for wallowing. I needed to write it down to see it was a bit silly. A series of niggly things combining to get me down a bit. Thanks for listening 🙂
Yup, GoT is definitely a cheering prospect
I’m a strict Phish Food devotee

Sorry, I re-read my comment, and it probably came across as a bit arsy (it definitely wasn’t meant like that!). Don’t apologise – have you not seen the random grumblings of my last couple of posts! 🙂 I find Phish Food a bit too strong. Oh My Apple Pie is the best way forward… 🙂

      • April 8, 2013 7:49 pm

I mentally picture you’re gravatar pic when reading your comments. You’re smiling and therefore not arsey at all 🙂
Never tried that flavour, maybe for my next wallow/whinge period.

Who doesn`t hit a patch like that? And with everything. All at once, of course. Tackle one thing at a time. And be kind to yourself.

Good advice there Red Hen. Will do. Thanks for the support.

And remember when one thing goes wrong it also tends to magnify our perception of how wrong everything else is.Oh, and a good sleep cures a lot!

      • April 8, 2013 7:43 pm

you are right. Today was much better and the sleep helped 🙂

I’ll see your week and raise you a month(ish)! Sorry to hear the knee is no better – must be so frustrating! Hope you feel better soon, the TV option sounds like a good one. 🙂

Hey Rubysneaker, I’m sorry to hear you’re still in Meh-land. However, hearing from you has put the hugest smile on my face. I’ve so missed your posts, the world has been that bit blander without you.
May we both have a speedy return to our usual levels of bounce and good humour.
      Big hugs

That’s such a lovely thing to say! Yes, here’s to us and our speedy return. 🙂

We all have down times but hey the make the good times feel great in comparison.
I live by my dads advise – always have your next holiday booked or planned.

    • April 7, 2013 10:16 pm

      How true :-).
Nothing planned yet, but a few good gigs coming up in the coming months are a good substitute. Some sunshine in the UK anytime soon would be most welcome!

Just caught GoT (best quote of the series so far goes to the Renley and throne comment), and now catching my 1st episode of Spartacus… Mmm Gannicus. And Agron. Anyway… Hope you’re having a better day today (I am, courtesy of semi-naked gladiators 🙂 )

    • April 8, 2013 9:55 pm

This season of GoT is brilliant!
Gannicus is enough to make a girl drool. Theres a lot to be said for muscly men in loincloths, usually puts a smile in my face.
Today has been much better, get a belated Easter Egg from my line manager. She’s great 🙂

OH NO, NEV!! I’m so sorry you’ve bugged off!! Awwww, and your knee??!! Shoot!! I’m not feeling like blogging this week either…not sure why, but I’m not, but I’m still running (although I got me a new pair of shoes, so that has helped.)

Jump back in when you can…I don’t want to be doing this alone!! But rest that knee!! You don’t want it worse!!

Hang in there, girl…it’s only a season, you’ll get through it.

Johnny Depp is always a sound choice. I hope he (or the others) did the trick.
